Think of Thoughts
Search me O God and know my heart; try me and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me and lead me in the way everlasting. Psalm 139,23,24.
Hello everyone,
Recently I heard about some young men from good Christian homes, totally confused in their thinking and always preoccupied with some thought or the other distracting them from the right track. “Thought” area is the least discussed topic though it is the most important. Sin does not begin with the act of sinning i.e. Eve biting the apple, but at the very moment she decided to eat. See how crucial your thoughts are!
Today when we look around the world is filled with trash and they come in such colours that we gaze and gaze somehow allowing them to enter inside. How often do we check the contents of our mind? What preoccupies our mind? Thoughts which seem so harmless may become very dangerous. The mind is the main battlefield. So you should be careful what you feed inside. Another important truth is that we cannot control our minds though philosophers say that. Either we submit our thoughts willingly, captive and obedient to Christ or the world can fill our mind with ugly fantasies. It is a choice which you should individually make. Read the verse above and make it your prayer too. Allow the Lord to inspect your thoughts and pull out what is damaging. Confess the verse below
For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, the have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God and WE TAKE CAPTIVE EVERY THOUGHT TO MAKE IT OBEDIENT TO CHRIST. II Cor 10.3-5. (memorize it)
To make your heart pure hide verses in your heart. Psalm119: 9,11. The more you fill your heart with verses the more evil thoughts will leave you. When someone wants to argue about your faith DO NOT ARGUE. If they are genuinely interested then share what the Lord has done for you. Show them that Jesus is so very real and alive for you.
If you have problem with fantasizing or thinking ideas which are not real ask the Lord to help you and be honest about your desire. Submit your thoughts to Him and He will deliver you.
Lord we willingly lay our minds before you, try them test them, purify them. In Jesus name, Amen
